Frequently Asked Questions
Synchronous: instructors and students gather at the same time and interact in “real time” with a very short or “near-real time” exchange between instructors and students. Face-to-face classes are synchronous. When it comes to online, meeting with your class in a tool like Google Meet allows for synchronous learning to take place.
Asynchronous: instructors prepare course materials for students in advance of students’ access. Students may access the course materials at a time of their choosing and will interact with each over a longer period of time. For example, projects and activities
People entering our campuses must consent to said screenings (temperature readings and answering questions aimed at detecting any signs or symptoms of respiratory illness). Our goal is to prevent symptomatic children and adults from entering our campuses. Included in the health screenings will be all PAS staff, visitors, and vendors.
Parents must carry out the following health screening at home:
- Verify if your child/teen presents any signs or symptoms of respiratory infection such as cough, sneezing, fever, headache, breathing difficulties, sore throat, runny nose, bloodshot eyes, and/or muscular or joint pain. If your child/teen presents any of these symptoms, please be aware that they will not be allowed to enter any of our school campuses.
- Ensure that your child/teen has washed their hands before leaving home.
- Make sure your child/teen is wearing a mouth cover before getting out of the car. Remember that mouth covers are required in order to enter any of our campuses.
All School staff – teachers, principals, department heads, and maintenance, transportation, security, and administrative personnel – have received COVID-19 prevention training.
All students must wear mouth covers when entering and exiting their respective campus. Parents can purchase the mouth covers of their liking.
Upon entering their classrooms, students are required to disinfect and wear the face shields provided by the School. Said protective equipment will be stored on our campuses.
Parents must remain in their cars when dropping off or picking up their children/teens. It is imperative that parents immediately leave our campuses once they have dropped off or picked up their children/teens. In addition, parental access to our campuses will be restricted in order to avoid crowding.
Tuition for the 2020-2021 will remain fixed (not increase nor decrease), regardless of the learning model in place.
The three learning models presented in the August 2020 Reopening Roadmap require that we keep scholarships that total approximately $30,000,000 pesos every year intact as well as cover one of our most important operating costs: full payment of our School personnel’s salaries.
Additional expenditures include license fees (cost per student), yearly service contracts, educational platform fees, among others. In spite of the fact that we have had to set number of already budgeted expenses aside, we have also had to cover unexpected technological costs as well as “new normal” expenditures such as sanitizations, signage, and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
